SUPPORT BY DONATING

Support the Hong Kong Dragon Kiln

The Hong Kong Dragon Kiln is the last remaining complete kiln of its kind in the city — a rare and irreplaceable part of Hong Kong’s ceramic and cultural heritage.

Today, it stands at a critical moment. With your support, we can preserve not only the kiln itself, but the stories, skills, and community it represents.

Who We Are

The Hong Kong Dragon Kiln Concern Group is a registered society, formed in 2017 and run entirely by volunteers.

We are a group of ceramic artists, researchers, and community members dedicated to:

  • Preserving the Dragon Kiln as a heritage site

  • Researching and documenting its history, people, and objects

  • Sharing its stories through public programmes and publications

  • Building a future for the kiln as a working museum and ceramic community centre

All donations directly support these efforts.

What We’ve Done

With the support of our community, we have:

  • Catalogued ceramics, moulds, and tools at the kiln

  • Published the bilingual book Objects of the Dragon Kiln

  • Organised kiln clean-ups and maintenance efforts

  • Led ceramic workshops with community partners

  • Given talks at schools and universities

  • Worked with government bodies on the kiln’s care and future

  • Contributed to three large-scale public artworks commemorating the kiln

Key projects in 2026–2027

Your support will help us focus on three key initiatives:

1. Public Engagement & Education
Tours, exhibitions, artist talks, and community programmes to raise awareness of the Dragon Kiln.

2. Video Documentation
In-depth documentation of the kiln site, its ceramic processes, and interviews with key figures — including Mr Leung, kiln experts, and conservationists.

3. Conservation Management Plan
The development of a professional conservation plan by a heritage architect — a vital document outlining how to preserve both the physical site and its intangible cultural heritage, and to guide its future.

How Your Donation Helps

All funds are used directly to support:

  • Conservation and care of the kiln site

  • Research and documentation

  • Public programmes and community activities

  • Long-term planning for the kiln’s future

As a fully volunteer-run organisation, every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

Thank You

By supporting the Dragon Kiln, you are helping to preserve a living piece of Hong Kong’s history — and ensuring it continues to inspire future generations.
